Excerpted from the Peter Max Archives, Peter Max's 'Summer of Love & Peace' poster features his playful and fluid, Art Nouveau-inspired typography that he created and drew in the 1960s - an era that brought him international recognition for his positive interpretation of pop art and the love-and-peace movement.

With the new music of the era, came new art - color saturated images, organic, distorted and elaborate hand lettering and typography, vibrating colors, bold, black line drawings and Max's signature color blends that he created on press with a split fountain technique. This artwork vibrantly recollects these elements in a tribute to the Summer of Love and calls back to Peter's work of his early 'Cosmic Art' period.
