Severini stated in that historical period: "The Cubists' method consisted in grasping the object by going around it; the Futurists pretended to enter the object. In my opinion, the two points of view can be reconciled in a poetic knowledge of the world. But, by the very fact of appealing to the creative depths of the painter by awakening hidden, intuitive and life-giving forces in him, Futurist theories, better than Cubist principles, have opened up unexplored and unlimited horizons " This work, like a snapshot of the painter's sensations, finds himself "flying over a three-dimensional world", which communicates something very strong to him; Severini interprets this atmosphere and uses it as the culmination of an architectural project, the conclusion of a search for space and sensation.
