Lithograph on vlin d'Arches paper. Inscription: Unsigned and unnumbered. Good condition. Notes: From the folio, Une Aventure mthodique, 1950; published by Fernand Mourlot, Paris, and Andr Sauret, Paris; printed by Mourlot Frres, Paris, February 25, 1950. Excerpted from the folio (translated from French), Pierre Reverdy's text, Une Aventure mthodique, is decorated with twenty-six original lithographs by Georges Braque who also executed the cover and color lithography for the frontispice of this album. Printing was finished on February 25, 1950 in Paris on the presses of J. Dumoulin, H. Barthlemy director on behalf of Fernand Mourlot and Andr Sauret. The original lithographs of Georges Braque and the reproductions were drawn under the supervision of the artist by Mourlot Frres. Justification of the draw this book was shot on vlin d'Arches, CCL examples, numbered to the press from I to CCL, more than fifteen non-trade examples marked in roman numerals. All [album colophons] signed by Georges Braque and Pierre Reverdy.

GEORGES BRAQUE (1882-1963) was a major 20th-century French painter, collagist, draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor. His most notable contributions were in his alliance with Fauvism from 1905, and the role he played in the development of Cubism. Braque's work between 1908 and 1912 is closely associated with that of his colleague Pablo Picasso. Their respective Cubist works were indistinguishable for many years, yet the quiet nature of Braque was partially eclipsed by the fame and notoriety of Picasso.
Product Disclaimer: Please review the full description and photos. Lithographs may be plate-signed, hand-signed, or slab-signed and can include a COA (see images); edition numbers shown may vary from the one shipped. Pricing reflects signature type—hand-signed pieces carry a premium and are clearly labeled. 'After' or 'nach' indicates an authorised lithographic reproduction in the style of the named artist, not a unique original. For inquiries, please reach out to support@seuyco.com.
