JASPER JOHNS (1930- ) Painter, sculptor, and print-maker, Jasper Johns became one of America's best-known post-Abstract Expressionists and Minimalists, though he is often considered within the Pop Art movement. Johns subject matter often includes images and objects from popular culture including the classical iconography of everyday symbols. His name is most associated with images of flags and numbers, Pop-Art subjects that he depicted in Minimalist style focusing on interrelationships of color and shapes of recognizable subject matter. His style is lush and painterly, and is famous for incorporating such media into his surfaces as encaustic and wax-based paint and plaster relief.
Product Disclaimer: Please review the full description and photos. Lithographs may be plate-signed, hand-signed, or slab-signed and can include a COA (see images); edition numbers shown may vary from the one shipped. Pricing reflects signature type—hand-signed pieces carry a premium and are clearly labeled. 'After' or 'nach' indicates an authorised lithographic reproduction in the style of the named artist, not a unique original. For inquiries, please reach out to support@seuyco.com.
